having fun with the npr kit and made my first own sketchmap

you can download it if you want.
btw it would be a cool thing to have a subcategory on the share site for sketchmaps under images I think.

cheers

Guillaume
Looks cool - Thanks for sharing! I agree with you about adding sketchmaps on the share site. Even if there isn't a special subcategory, sketchmaps could be tagged with "NPR kit" or "sketchmap" so people could find them.
Good looking render, great idea for a sketch map! Thanks for sharing. Welcome to the elite club of modo artists who make their own sketchmaps!

Thank you. I think if enough peolpe create sketchmaps and are willing to share them I guess we could make this happen. maybe we should start a sketchmap competition.

Wow. Thank you so much Arnie, especially for making those wonderful shaders. I will have to dive into it a lot more though, it just has so much in it and I am sure it will take me a while figuring it out. Will do a test soon with sketch map image sequence. Just have to time it well. My 4 weeks old daughter has the tendency to be very needy the second I switch on the computer.
;)
Hi guys. I made a new version of the sketchmap and this time it is animated. I will have to do more experiments on the level of movement and so on, but I kinda like what I see already.
for everyone interrested in the sketchmap sequence here it is.

and here is the animation using it. I went a bit too far on the animation of the Edge Ink offset and width, but other than that, I could see this look in some of my future work.

hello,
it reminds me Vectoraster, a cool tool for mac to generate halftones with lines, polygons, letters etc…
I know, it's a post process, and has nothing to do with the NPR kit, but that's an interesting tool.
Very clever with the letters! I was wondering if we'd see more creative interpretations like this. Congrats. Let's see some more! :)
Nice image, cool idea for a sketchmap :)

First we would need a sketchmap category in the assets.
I have created a few sketchmaps already and I must say that it is a lot fun to work with them. A sketchmap contest would be awesome!
Thanks guys, I'm still overwhelmed by having my first shout out in a modcast and that for just monkeying around for fun. I'm glad you like it and I will certainly do some more tests with different sketchmaps. Just have to find some time and a way to trick my 5 week old daughter to sleep instead of making me carry her like a donkey between feeding or diaper sessions. I don't get to do much fun stuff for me lately. sigh. still she's sweet, that helps.
