Topic - ArchVIZ: Swimming Pool

Hi,

my latest archviz render.

C&C Welcome

Intel Core i7-3930K@4.8GHz, ASUS P9X79 WS, 64GB RAM, Intel SSD 520 - 240GB, Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 2TB, NVIDIA GTX 670 4GB, Xigmatek Elysium Big Tower, Cooler Master Silent Pro M2 1000W, 27" Dell U2711, Wacom Intuos4, 3Dconnexion SpaceNavigator

really nice renders! love the colors and the plasticity of the textures, what I don't like is the combination of round shapes and projection mapping.

Where is the pool party invite? This looks pretty cool. The water looks absolutely amazing. How is that done?

I noticed the reflection in the ceiling and thought that was nice and subtle. The only thing I would say is that it does look a little cold. Wondering if a wood ceiling wouldn't warm up the look and add some natural colour/beauty to compliment the other materials. Maybe tie it in the the wood in the shower and darken slightly to a Bamboo colour/texture.

Thanks for sharing.
That looks nice.

Can we see your reflection/specularity settings on the water? Please don't tell me this image took 12 hours to render.
Very cool. Specially the shot over the water.

You should make a dusk/night shot with caustics of that camera.

;)

Agreed - I'd like to know what you used for the water reflectivity / reflections. It looks great!
That looks great!
Killer work man! Very very nice.
Thanks to all!

Nothing special. Water material is standard content Slight Ripple Water. Lighting only sky+sun+portals.

Unfortunately I have to disappoint. It's true. 10-14 hours. But I think that even so, it is worth ;)

A Barros wishes - duck at dusk with caustics. :)

Very nice mytrixx. you nailed the light!
The water really is great.

I'm wondering how people are creating water in Modo. I'd be particularly interested in knowing more about creating larger ocean waves, etc. We have Vue Infinite which does a great job, but I'd like to stay within Modo entirely on certain projects and would love a water workflow for Modo.

try this add a fractal noise texture as displacement and animate the texture locator in Y...

take this as an extra simplified recipe...

Does a great job for some things. That said, I'd like some sharper wave peaks.
