Topic - Logo Enhancement Work

That was kind of a raw one. Site launch, lots of client side changes (not to mention my own) just a lot of time constraints to juggle. Completion time about 10 days on and off during conception time. Modo crashed a lot during texturing and preview renders but overall performed fairly well. It's like making out with a supermodel and she keeps passing out, end of the day you still made out with a supermodel. :) The site is being built at http://fitnesssf.com. I'm using Modo for most of the key visuals there as well.

I kinda learned replicators, blobs and fur control with this one, thanks to one Andy Probst.

Well this just turned into a WIP again. Have to re-render the center bit again for a material change so I figured I should clean it up some more as well. Who knows how it'll be used next time.

After seeing Dasch's cool and very simple way of tracing in Modo (http://forums.luxology.com/topic.aspx?f=9&t=70208), this still took more time than simply extruding the Illustrator file but I'm much happier with the result.

Thought I'd update this thread. Doing the UVs at the moment as I'll need clean displacement maps for what's coming next.
If you're doing a logo rework, take the extra day to build it in Modo rather than just extruding the imported Illustrator curves. It's so worth it in the end.

I used the curves for snapping on as I'll need to match it exactly in one of the final renders.

After a bunch of changes and swapping colors back and forth, this is now the final rendition.

Looks good! It's very clean.
Yep, I like the final version. Shame about the payment though. :(
Beautiful Work and way to give them hell. Hopefully they will pay up soon.

This work looks amazing, I really do wish I could do this sort of thing.
I know what you are going through with being stiffed by a client, as a computer and network technician I have had a customer or two that I had done big jobs for that ignored the invoices I sent and refused to pay even though the work was done right and they were satisfied. It really is a shame when it happens, and who really knows what we can do about it except hope others back us up right?
Thanks. The support from the community has been amazing. And I don't just mean the people who share their assets and materials her for others to learn from.

The amount of views this topic got over night is just mind boggling. I literally woke up to a massive flood of encouragement from Twitter users today. Funny enough, they guys still haven't talked to me in person only threatened FBI action in the press (this actually got write-ups).

I got mails where they said "everybody's excited about the new design" and for the 2nd design too. The whole situation is sick at the moment. Without the community support I got, it would be atrocious.
