I'm only aware of Friday just starting here. Anything you wanna tell us a little earlier than expected this week Brad?

The camera looks great, Andrew!

I haven't watched the previous ones and I've only seen the first one here, but I have some questions about your workflow. I haven't read the megathread of comments either, so maybe they have been answered already. But here goes anyway.

How come you don't use shortcuts? In my opinion they would greatly speed up your work. Why do you use the rotate widget at the top right? I find it to slow things down a lot as well. Instead of middle clicking and reseting the values, you could just shift click, etc.

I guess I'll leave it at this for the moment, but I suppose you get the idea.

You can't argue with results, though. Sure does look good!

There's a good reason why I dont use shortcuts in the videos. If things start happening on a video for no reason because I've pressed a key it could get confusing, so in the videos I try and show as many things as possible. An educational video shouldn't be about how fast you can do something, unless that is what it's title is.

Another reason is I don't like them. I use a tablet mainly and I just hate fumbling around on my keyboard for the right key. If there's a button on the screen it's just easier to click it with the pen, but it's whatever you fee comfortable with I guess. I've always found managing a keyboard setup a bit anal anyway.

BTW, I did those videos about 10 months ago because people on the forum asked me to do it, I've never set myself up as the worlds greatest modeller. Hopefully some people can learn something from them. I certainly learnt a lot from doing them.

OK. That makes sense. Since you use a wacom, a keyboard isn't practical. When I use a wacom, I just use the alt/shift/ctrl/space/enter keys and dont use short cuts, but that is usually for 2D programs. (I don't like it for 3D programs.)

I agree that for this kind of video tutorial it would be better not to use shortcuts, but I hope that for your personal work you've rigged up some sort of pie menu system or something to have your most used tools easily accessable. :)

Let me know if anyone has problems (I've set this up ready for 201, and Andrew, let me know if you don't want them here.)

Fantastic!!

But i think that Luxology should update this link with the new videos. There we only can find parts 1 to 6.

I think they've probably got a lot more important things to do at the moment.

I'm working on it. I'm not a sound expert. It's quite hard to model, think and talk at the same time, you should try it. My voice is naturally quiet, I think that's half the problem.

I didn't get paid any money to do these so I'm having to use the technology I've got.

Glad you're getting something from them.
