(No offense to the nerds. Im a little nerdy myself.)
I'm really tired. It's been a great week at the Games Developer Conference. We have had a jam packed meeting room all week long with press and client meetings. Met with some really nice folks from EA, Massive, Nintendo, Microsoft, EA again, Glyph, some crazy Turks, IGT, some other EA guys (man they must be huge or something) and several other cool companies. Going back in for more torture, er, meetings tomorrow. We also managed to squeak in press meetings with Animation Mag, Game Dev, Mac World, Mac Addict, DV Mag and a few analysts. I'm telling you this has been an exhausting week. Don't worry I didnt stay for any of the parties I came home each night to get some work done and actually talk to my family a couple times.
So that's the good news! I don't have any bad news, but I also don't really have any news. Why? Well I have been out of the loop all week you see. (Read above) At any rate, since I promised Friday updates each week and I am clearly unable to deliver the goods this week I am going to do this for you. First as you may notice I am posting this on Thursday (well in Cali anyway). Next I will give you yet another update with goodies on Monday after I get up to speed on the development status (we have our dev meetings on Mon and Thurs so I'll be up to speed quickly).
OK. So that wasn't super exciting. This is. I have some really nice images for you this week. The testers have been on fire. Check these out.
Tasty treat!

Modeled, painted and rendered in modo. Love that.

Our CTO, Stuart Ferguson, was doing some testing the other night. I love it that our engineers use the app. And use it well! Go Stuart!

This one is just cool.

Wanna see it move? Gotta love the "Render Turntable"option. Turntable
So let's talk training material. In standard Lux fashion we are delivering the goods on technology but we are also bringing an amazing amount of training material with 201 including the oft raved about modo training videos. I have struck a deal with one of the more beloved modonauts to create a series of videos ranging from modeling to UV mapping to painting and finally a touch of rendering. Check out the end result of the modeling tutorial videos. So far we are up to 20 videos just in the modeling portion of this tutorial series. So cool. And free!

Speaking of training, since I am out of the office all week I am unable to record videos for you specifically so I am going to drop in a few clips to show you all about the Cellular texture so you can get a feel for the tone of the inline help system. I'll get some more sexy stuff and some more data to you all on Monday.
Cellular
Cellular 02
Cellular 03
Enjoy and I'll catch you all early next week for more good times!

Well, this is pretty sexy stuff. Wow! Quick downloads. I'm pleased.
Love that glow sculpture--I have to say it's very Burning Man-esque.
I can see I'm going to have some real fun with this upgrade.
Looking forward to Monday.

Good lookin' stuff!
Quickie question if anyone's still around - is the glow on the wire sculpture done in render, or post? Nice little flares around those lights ;-)

12:58 am - Took a break from an all-nighter and thought I'd check some forums - what a pleasant surprise.
These renders are truely unbelievable. I guess I'll be the first to ask: Wireframes?

I've got to say with GDC this week, and the work needed to attend such an event, I wasn't really expecting an update this week. So this is a big bonus.
