Hi Guys, finally I feel I can post some work into the gallery section.

Any questions/critiques fire away. I have 2 more shots that detail some joinery to the left of the current cameras, they need some post processing so will upload when they're done.

99% modo - 1% photoshop

Hope you enjoy.

Hayden

Hi Hayden, the second photo is good, but first I think the light side of the window is very high, the second picture is smoother I liked good work.

Hi toodef.
I don't know who you are, but you've got talent.
The composition of the second shot echoes a classical masterpiece.
Yes, it's too clean in the foreground and too sterile overall, but
what you've captured is what most people don't achieve after years of
work - The subject is the light not the model.

I really like what you did with the sun and shadow, my eye goes
right to the hot spot on the floor, then the soft ochre light below the oven,
and back up to the source in the window we can't see.
That is great composition. Simple yet powerful.
One thing I've learned from working with great photographers is ...
the subject is always the light, the model is just the stage.

Woah. Wasn't expecting that. Thanks you for the kind words. I agree with you, especially on the second shot the poor texturing on the oven is pretty evident. I don't think i've got a bump map for the brushed finish loaded on that one.

Another thing also bugs me is the transition between the cooktop and the stone, in reality there would be a small shadowline around where these to surfaces meet. Also the black grill is pretty flat and needs work...I grabbed this model from a previous kitchen which was a fair distance from the camera, so I neglicted a few of these details.

The next shots im putting up show the camera looking out into the light source, there's a nicely textured exterior wall (that you can just make out to the far left of the second image where the framless glass is) and some bamboo growing against a fence....which hopefully lift the sterile feeling a bit.

I had me thinking of that, and was looking to bring in some wooden kitchen utensil, but had yet to settle on anything (they also became the centre of attention, which wasn't ideal)

The majority of our clients houses are wooden floors...except this one has a great budget and it's stone all the way !

Cheers.

Ok - I have a shot update. Not the one I had intended, but will cover that next.

Detailing some nice Cassina Cab stools and joinery to the right side of the main bench. It's pretty minimal... perhaps could do with some foreground interest in the bench.

Actually I kinda like it how it is.

Hi Toodef,

you're good!
I like the images.
Just a small crit:
I'd use more roughness on the natural stone to prevent
it from looking a bit plastic like
The stainless steel could use some scratches or anisotropy imo

Keep going!

Ok - this is the last shot for this Kitchen, detailing a LCD TV concealed behind a sliding door. Not super by any means, but the shot is covered.

edit: thanks for the feedback ...

Cheers guys. Admittedly the bottom shot is just terrible, but it had to be covered, and I wanted to show you guys anywho.

Very easy to make 1 shot look good - 4 shots to = standard, much harder ! Seeing the first one now, it needs some reworking with the levels.

Thanks for the feedback.
