A Bay Area chapter is forming and all are invited to come be a part of it. Meet other
users, network, learn and share your knowledge of this amazing application. Everyone
is encouraged to take part, you don't even have to own modo, just share an enthusiasm
for it and computer graphics in general.

First meeting will be held October 11th at Duarte Design. (Thank you Andrew!)
Conveniently located at 161 E. Evelyn Ave in Mountain View.
(Click for a map and directions)
Doors open at 7:00pm with light snacks and soft drinks; meeting starts at 7:30.

Greg Leuenberger of Sabertooth Productions will be giving an informal presentation
of modo 301, Greg is a well known modo community member and author of many
of the training video included with modo. We would also like to have a Q&A session,
please come prepared with your questions.

Directly following the meeting, I'm proposing that any who may be interested
to come to Tied House Cafe & Brewery 945 Villa Street, Mountain View

I look forward to seeing you all there.

(Scroll down for the recap!)

I'll be there. It's closer to my house anyhow.

Sorry if I caused any problems with scheduling this meeting. My school is really slow to react to anything. =/

I picked up some chips, crackers and some soft drinks. No idea of a head count, so I hope we'll have enough. Looking forward to meeting everyone!

It was the announcement of cookies that pushed you over the edge, wasn't it?

Thanks again to everyone for showing up (both from Luxology and of course all the users in the area). Also thanks to Greg for the fun/informative demo

I'm looking forward to next month and seeing what everyone's been up to...

that and the delicious cookies.

I just wanted to thank everyone who came out last night and made our first meeting such a success. All in all, we had 28 attendees, representing a wide variety users. I also want to thank Greg Leuenberger for his awesome presentation. Greg was kind enough to show us all his workflow and how he's set up his many custom pie menus. He also showed several techniques for layering surfaces in the shader tree and how to paint on them in the viewport and get realtime feedback on the results. Another special thanks goes out to the Lux crew, we were lucky enough to have Brad Peebler, Allen Hastings, Robin Hastings, Stuart Ferguson and Immanuel Martin all in attendance. Brad was kind enough to get up and talk a little and also do a little modo Q&A -sweet!! Last, but definitely not least, thanks again to Andrew Penick of Duarte Design for offering their space. It was the perfect setting. I took a few snapshots that I'll post this weekend.
Lets definitely keep the momentum going and hear your ideas for next months meeting on November 8th.

My only thought prior to the event was "please let there be more than just me" showing up, but was completely blown away by the number of people who managed to make it to the meeting! Everyone there was so great and fun to talk to (distrated though I was running around being host and making sure everything was going well).

A big "thank you" to Greg for presenting, the Lux crew for coming down to Mountain View, and everyone else who came down for the event.

I'm really looking forward to the next meeting and hope that even more people can make it :D

It was great to see such a big group!

Thanks to Lux for being there. What other group can say that.
I hope that they continue to join us from time to time.

Thanks to Andrew, James and Greg for all the prep and presentation.
...and thanks to Ryan for the show of your work. Makes me feel like a slacker because all I did was just show up.

Maybe, since I work right next to Lux, for our next meeting, I can hop over there and bring a beta of 401 to show. What do you say Brad ;)

But really, thanks for the new group. Cool to match names to faces.

Oh BTW -- I almost forgot. Greg you said that you might share your pie menus. That would be super cool. I really like your work flow.

Thanks again for the presentation.

Yeah - that was a great turnout. If you didn't make it this time and have been lurking around this thread you should really come by.

I'll try and get some pie menues posted next week - a few of them rely on scripts from Seneca and others so I don't know if I can bundle them all into a zip or not, I'll try to ask around.
