I love the new UV ... Can't wait brad for this amazing upgrade, all of you have in store. Dose anybody at lux get annoyed when you seem to get all the credit for modo? I can see it now luxology reality TV. WOW ... that would be boring unless we see the amazing stuff that is coming. Other than that it would be everyone typing codes.

I bet you are waiting for me to get the full version of modo. lol. I know you want the money. I wonder when modo will tell me my time is up?

Later.

you mean like the way they are implemented in UV Layout? you can see the UV distortion base on the colors of the UV:

Maybe your asking for too much, too soon?

I think its a great feature to add(but just not right now) in maybe Modo 302 or 401? :P

However in the meantime, i would love to see how the new UV engine handles hands, they are usually the hardest thing to unwrap with the current UV unwrap tool in 202. I think it'll be a wake in the park for the new engine.

Actually i think its a requirement. Granted (if its not already in 301) its just another thing to tack onto the "todo list", but it all comes down to how well the unwrap works. If it doesn't work perfect, and perfect is hard to do.. nay, impossible, then Stretch Colors would be a big big helper allowing you to properly fix things yourself :)

I'm glad to see some refinement coming for the Unwrap tool. Here's hoping that these new improvements will address some old complaints with the tool. Keep up the good work Lux!

I have followed the startup video and created a config file, but I can't get it to work. If anyone has any helpful ideas I would really appreciate it.

Here's the file as I have it setup:

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<configuration>

    <! -- Copyright (c) 2001-2006 Luxology, LLC. All Rights Reserved. Patents pending. -->

    <atom.type="StartupCommands">
        <list type="Command">scene.open "/Users/dtschultz/Library/Application Support/Luxology/Startup_Scenes/1280x720.lxo"</list>
     <atom>

</configuration>

Thanks!

Ok, I got it. I had to use the .cfg file that Brad supplied, otherwise Text Edit wasn't allowing me to save the file with the correct encoding. Is there something I should have enabled in Text Edit's preferences to be able to save out .cfg files?

Thanks!

There is another problem I have encountered in that it only works for me when I restart Modo and not when I press "New Scene", because the command is for "Startup Commands". I thought I could enter "scene.new" instead of "scene.open" in the argument (if that's what it is called), but it didn't work. I think the Atom Type might need to be changed from "StartupCommands", but to what?

I think TextEdit by default saves as RTF. Seems like all you should have to do is switch it to use Text. It's right in the Preferences, near the top.

Thanks, Mark. You're right.

Now, if I could fix the other problem, I would be set.
