I recorded the skypecast for those who want it.

Poor (low) audio level, but other than that its not too bad.. aside from the monkey beatings.

Brads Skypecast

401 made me switch from Linux to OSX so i could use it. Guess i should be glad it didn't ask for more. :)

I think the script and profiles will be pretty handy for a lot of things beyond archviz.

I have to say I was hoping Brad would demo the sculpting features he ran out of time on and couldn't show at macworld.

I'd really like to see you all doing Dan's idea about the underwater scene.
That's just my thought.

Regarding the training tutorials - Would be great to see one on advanced rendering techniques, how to get the best out of the modo renderer, multipass rendering, etc.

Yea i think thats a wicked idea. So often everyone seems to be debating on what is the best, but we all kind of debate between ourselves and by what we get out of the engine (which isn't always straightforward).

In the end if someone like andy who has the ability to query the lux directly was able to post the best ways to achieve effects and get the most out of the Modo Engine.. well, it would rock hehe.

Leefmc,

(in John Macenro's voice) YOU CANNOT BE SERIOUS! ;)

In the latest modcast at 16:57 onwards, Brad says he's got to get back to work and do some more 'testing' - they've 'got a beta going' out, then he says he's 'said too much'. He also mentions at an earlier stage that Andy Brown is creating content for the 'next release'.

Maybe (Insert X files music here) I have some sort of exclusive modcast that was subsequently replaced.....

Blech, i've got too much work to do to rumor about the beta :p

Not thats its news imo, we all know there is a beta going on. Hell depending on how close to the source you are, there is always a beta going on :p

Anyway, back to animating... hehe. Brad, seriously, if your doing 301 Animation in any way, please make importing from other apps painless! I'd be happy to animate in XSI and render in modo :)

A million thanks to Neil. I can't wait for the advanced version to come out. I'll be the first to buy...
Lux. take notice, when he perfects it to work in all directions and with custom profiles, it will be a milestone for us arch-viz people using modo. This tool fills all the holes that curve extrude left out. Again, thanks Neil and group, and thanks Brad.

This would be even better if Allen Hastings, and any one else involved in building the renderer were on the video explaining why and how these settings/techniques work.

Sounds good to me. I liked the in depth render tutorials for XSI, they sold them as a separate DVD set for XSI 4. It's really cool because you start to understand how the render engine works and how to tweak it.

Yeah, exactly, those DVD's where/are great. If we could get something like those for modo I'd be a very happy camper...no, not camp (not that there's anything wrong with that)
