Well it is GOOD to be back! You were a very gracious community while I was away. Thanks for not revolting during the Friday fun hiatus. The recent trend of package viz in modo inspired me to do a tutorial. I had never done a package like this so it was a learning experience for me as well. It was FUN! But isn't everything fun when you use modo? ;)

I had a GREAT time sifting through the MOUNTAIN of killer work you all have done over the last few weeks. The image diary this week weighs in at 130 images! Wow. Check it out here:

Image Diary: Week Fourteen

Special thanks to Aegis for donating the graphics card for the modo love competition and hats off to JO Rust for winning with this image!

What a cool group you are.

Speaking of COOL, modomaniac Yazan Malkosh has donated some killer content to the community including a project with these two pieces of furniture.

Beautiful! You can download the kit here:

Yazan Rocks!

Do you know who else rocks? Andy Brown and Matt Cox. We have two new user created vids this week. One from Andy and one from Matt. What is it about the Brits that they keep cranking out the cool modo tuts?

Andy's vid takes the WMD tut even further with some cool painting!
Heavy Metal Paint Job

Matt (Eight Eyed) shows us some cool tricks for streamlining workflow with macro recording!
UI Macros

Here are the package design videos I promised. Enjoy!

Oh what the heck. Here is the end result of the tut. Spoiler!

Coming soon...

Thank you Luxo team and Modopeople. Some hours ago I decided to write a sad text about how Friday's gifts are missing me, how I was hurry and unpatiently refreshed forum to see new Brad's video after my crazy "fast-flying" working week, it was a real relax for my tired soul, and now ... voila.

We fall in situation what I always liked on great communities, fast well-educated answers on any kind of our problems with modo and now we are getting a lot of training materials what I am not able to "eat" during my common week, so then I am carefuly collection everything for future "inspect". :-)

yeap modo/LW - ..ehh, you laugh at my english, sorry but I`m doing what I can

Brad,
Once you get those boxed versions out, will you be selling any through retailers?
I ask because we are starting a modo user group here in San Diego (first get-together this coming Monday) and we will probably have our meetings at a local independent authorized Apple retailer/training center (www.CryWolf.com). It would be really cool if they could sell the software that we are using in this user group that they will be hosting.
Please send me an email if you have some resale information that we can pass along to CryWolf.
Thanks,
-Jeff

Thanks Brad. Thanks CO. Always a pleasure giving back to such a wonderful community. Honestly, the best one I've ever been a part of. Sorry for being out of touch for a while, but I was just blessed with a baby girl and she's taking over my world!!!

Yazan

PS. Thats a killer box set, gotta order another modo to get my hands on it!

One reason I changed to modo was the Friday tut's. I am loving this app and the idea of sharing knowledge through a free medium. I love your policy that customers are important :) Keep all of the good work guys.

So the guys who didn't order the boxed version can make their own box? That's pretty cunning! :o)

For some reason this darned clip just wont re-compress. Keep getting a failed to compress (failure 11) from QT Pro. Going to transfer the 2gb file home and give it a go during the girls naps. :)

Darned computers!

Hey Brad.

A type 11 failure is caused by a problem with your hard disk. The problem is not enough heap space and is common in quicktime when loading decompressing or compressing components.

Have you tried compressor? (even though it uses the same components as quicktime, it may be worth a go).

I thought it might be a HD issue but I tried exporting to a second drive in my system as well as to a network drive and nada. I haven't tried compressor yet. Since I had to leave the office (my 11 month old was with me and ran out of patience), i thought I would continue the struggle at home. I have two systems I can try here. By hook or crook I'll get it! :)
