Cheers Philip.
The animal references are excellent...I'm definitely bookmarking this one.
Although I was just browsing, not downloading seeing what was on the site and it says IP banned...mass downloading banned. :) I'll try looking again later.

Nice site, very good structure. I usually get scared away by folders full of unsorted mixed quality stuff but this one looks like i'm gonna spend some time there.

I would love it if they are all available via a torrent from the site. I'm sure their bandwidth bill would be high.

I've never been able to get onto that site. Clicking on your link here for example, the page is just not found. I've always had the same problems with this site, no matter which browser I am using. Everybody always talks about how good the textures are, but I've never seen them for myself.

that's really weird. I clicked the link and got right in. Maybe it's blacklisted or otherwise blocked by your ISP or particular computer? Try going to an Internet café or something?

nice site, but extremely limited access to the textures.
You can only grab a few at a time, then you get blocked for 24 hours.
It could take you weeks, probably more like months to snag them all.

Yea, I just discovered that as well. I grabbed 10 before it stopped. But, the textures are huge and very good quality.
Big thanks to you, Philip. :)
EDIT: It appears that I am able to switch to another category and download more. So it seems that the limit is 10 per category, per day. At least that's been my experience so far.

Still cannot get onto www.mayang.com/textures. Must be an ISP issue. Does anybody happen to know if there is a decent seamless/tileable brick texture there (just normal bricks - the red ones)? If there is, any chance somebody could email it to me? I would use an internet cafe, but there isn't one anywhere near where I live (it closed down years ago).

mayang has *lots* of brick textures none of which appear to be tiling, but with imagesynth you can create your own tile :D
the cgtextures site has brick images (under modern brick) too.. maybe that'll suffice?

Actually Todd it is 30mb per day, regardless of category. If you downloaded 10 images, you only snagged around 10mb of images.
Once you hit 30mb total, it doesn't matter if you change categories or not. You are done for the next 24 hours.

Nope, cannot see that.
Does anybody have any tips for creating a seamless brick texture in ImageSynth? I've tried on a couple of occasions, but with absolutely no luck.

Ah yes, I finally hit that wall. But, considering the quality and size of the textures, I'd say the wait is a minor inconvenience given that others will charge a lot for access to such textures.
I wrote Marcel who runs the site, and he has plans to eventually add membership fees to access the textures. I believe the membership costs will vary depending on how many MB's you want to download per day. In the meantime, I'll gladly accept the daily limit for the minor inconvenience that it is.

You could always buy them for $45. That's not that much for a lot of decent textures - they say it ships on 2 4.5GB DVDs.

I saw no mention of a 45.00 deal anywhere, in fact he states he doesn't sell them on a disc at this time.
